The legendary Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute” Las Vegas tribute show is still thrilling audiences in the “Modern Showrooms Las Vegas” at Alexis Park Resort Hotel.
The legendary Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.
Besides being one of the best-selling and most successful live artists ever, he’s also composed the soundtrack of our lives — including some of the most famous songs on the planet.
In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s on-stage legacy continues to be celebrated for audiences across the globe through tribute artist Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.

Like his legendary counterpart, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.
In the spring of 1974, his parents brought him from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, in 1976, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him 16 more times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett started his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before deciding to move from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his musical idols.
In 1995, Garrett was selected by Paul Revere, leader of “The Raiders” to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.
What was meant to be a limited run turned into a three-year success.
By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to launch his own show.
He began a steady touring schedule, building a large and loyal following along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds.”
He continues to sell out theaters nationwide, often in venues that typically host major artists.
Garrett has also received multiple accolades, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for click here future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19, 2025 officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in this year, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has appeared at more Vegas stages than any other.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only continuous Neil Diamond tribute in the U.S..
